10TH POST-WAR AND CONTEMPORARY ART SALE (NOVEMBER 2022)
For our 10th Contemporary Sale we are preparing with masterpieces of Hungarian art from the 20th and 21th century yet again. Highlights of the auction include István Nádler’s “emotional geometric” work, Dóra Maurer’s conceptual work based on mathematics and repetition, Ilona Keserü’s research into the interactions of spectrum and skin colors; Dezső Korniss’ surrealist work based on motifs from Szentendre, and János Fajó’s hardedge image reminiscent of the classical avant-garde.
Many pieces from László Nudelman’s carefully selected collection, which dates back to the 1970s and focuses on chef d’eouvres, will also go under the hammer. The backbone of the collection is made up of paintings by Jenő Barcsay, Endre Bálint, Dezső Korniss, Lajos Vajda, Lili Ország and Béla Kondor, joined by the works of the most renowned artists of contemporary Hungarian painting, such as Endre Tót, Gyula Konkoly, Tibor Csernus and László Lakner.
