69TH SPRING SALE May 31, 2022

On the occasion of our 25th Anniversary we are preparing an Auction worthy of attention. The most exciting piece of the Sale is a masterpiece by József Rippl-Rónai, which presumably depicts the celebrated actress of the age, Emília Márkus, at their Kaposvár home in the company of Lazarine and Uncle Piacsek. A real sensation is János Vaszary’s Danube Promenade, which has been lurking for almost 100 years, along with Béla Kádár’s work painted with the emblematic colours of the Bauhaus and brought back home from the United States. Further highlights of the Auction are Still-life with a Pipe created during his Berlin period by Lajos Tihanyi or a painting by Hugó Scheiber depicting Luna Park, the largest entertainment center in the German capital. In addition, masterpieces by László Mednyánszky, Tibor Boromisza, János Kmetty and Vilmos Aba-Novák could all be found in the auction catalogue. Live Auction: May 31, 2022 (Tuesday), at 6 pm. Preview: May 14 –30, 2022 daily between 10 am – 6 pm. (12 p.m. – 6 p.m. on May 18, Wednesday) Venue: Budapest Congress Center, Pátria Hall
