Matzon Ákos
Budapesten, 1945. április 19-én született. Építész-műszaki tanulmányokat a Budapesti Műszaki Egyetemen és a pécsi Pollack Mihály Műszaki Főiskolán folytatott. 1986-tól művészeti szabadiskolákban képezte magát, tanulmányutakat tett Németországban és Svájcban. 1994 óta szabadfoglalkozású képzőművész. 1998 - ban elnyerte a Pollock – Krasner Alapítvány (New York) éves ösztöndíját, 2005-ben a MAOE nívó-díját és a Papírművészeti Triennálé nagydíját. 2007 – 2009-ben a Római Magyar Akadémia ösztöndíjasa. 2010-ben Munkácsy Mihály-díjas, majd Stuttgartban Baden Württemberg ösztöndíjasaként dolgozik és állít ki. Több magyar és külföldi művészeti társaság aktív tagja, melyet számtalan egyéni és csoportos kiállításon való részvétel jelez. A VUdAK (Magyarországi Német Írók és Képzőművészek Szövetsége) szekció vezetőjeként 2005 óta évente több kiállítás szervezője és kurátora. Művei számos magyar és külföldi köz- és magángyűjteményben jelen vannak.
Ákos Matzon painter
He was born in Budapest on 19 April 1945. He studied architecture and engineering at the Technical University of Budapest and the Pollack Mihály Technical College in Pécs. From 1986 he developed his skills at free art schools and made study trips to Germany and Switzerland. Since 1994 he has been a freelance artist. In 1998 he was awarded the Pollock – Krasner Foundation (New York) Annual Scholarship, in 2005 the MAOE Prize for Excellence and the Grand Prize of the Paper Art Triennale. In 2007 – 2009 he won the scholarship of the Hungarian Academy in Rome. In 2010 he was awarded the Munkácsy Mihály Prize, then with a Baden Württemberg scholarship he worked and exhibited in Stuttgart. He is an active member of several Hungarian and foreign art societies, which is reflected in his participation in numerous solo and group exhibitions. As section leader of the VUdAK (Association of Hungarian German Writers and Artists) he has organised and curated several exhibitions a year since 2005. His works are represented in numerous public and private collections in Hungary and abroad.
