Thanks to a collaboration with Zsdrál Art Contemporary Art Gallery the Judit Virág Gallery’s summer group exhibition will now focus on ceramics. The exhibition aims to present the versatility of applied arts, including ceramics, through the works of eight contemporary artists with links to Pécs and one international creator.

The ceramics culture has a particularly rich history in Hungary, just think of porcelain factories such as Zsolnay, Herend, or Hollóháza. Ceramics is often labelled as a conservative and somewhat monotonous, it is a vibrant and always changing discipline that surpasses our cultural heritage. The artists who are currently showcasing their works for the general public are prime examples of this progressive methodology.

Their work is also internationally recognised, and all exhibitors participate regularly in conferences and group exhibitions at national and international levels.

The artists on display are: Judit Varga, Even-Chen Simcha, Márta Nagy, Erika Rejka, Pálma Babos, Ágnes Husz, Viktória Maróti, Zsuzsa Füzesi, and Zsolt József Simon.
