Paper works have regained their rightful places in the visual arts as full-fledged works rather than mere sketches in artists’ oeuvres. From gestures and geometrical abstraction to figurative, conceptual, and even three-dimensional works, the Paper Panorama exhibition showcases the many facets of paper. The exhibition aims to reveal the potential artistic tendencies offered by paper to show the panoramic status of paper-based works through various collages, graphic reproductions, drawings, paintings and objects.
Our compilation focuses on the paper-based cultic artworks of the 1970s and the latest trends of the new millennium in an effort to popularise the genre in Hungary, to demonstrate its diverse opportunities and to emphasise its prominent place in contemporary visual arts.
