Retrospective exhibition of Istvan Nadler

2008-09-13

Celebrating the 70th anniversary of the birth of Munkácsy-prized painter István Nádler, Virág Judit Gallery for Contemporary Art exhibited the artist’s most emblematic works made between 1968 and 2008 including special surprises like geometric statuettes from the 1970s besides his distinctive colour field and hard-edged paintings.

Nádler’s oeuvre can be divided into several artistic periods, all of them largely influenced by zeitgeist, tradition, music and oriental philosophy. The exhibition aimed to present his far flung, but still coherent periods.
