Paris-Budapest 1890-1960 – Fine art relations between the two cities

2017-10-27

The Paris-Budapest 1890-1960 Fine Arts Relations between Paris and Budapest was published to accompany the highly successful exhibition held at the Virág Judit Gallery in November 2017.  The volume is not chronological but topical; it presents the artistic trends of this very fruitful seven decades starting from the appearance of the Nabis, through Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism to the birth of abstract art, based on most recent research. It presents Hungarian artists and group of artists that created significant work during this period in Paris, or their experience made in the French capital during their journeys, emigration or study trips had an important impact on their art. The album features all the pictures displayed at the exhibition, as well as countless colorful analogies.
